A list of improvements in firmware version 1.2.1 is listed below.

Uncompressed HDMI output is now enabled.

Enables the center AF point to autofocus when the camera is used with Canon EF lens/extender combinations whose combined maximum aperture is f/8.

Improves the speed of the camera’s acquisition of focus when using a Canon Speedlite’s AF-assist beam.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor may freeze and display Err 70 or Err 80 when a still photo is taken during Live View or in movie shooting mode.

Fixes a phenomenon that may occur when the continuous shooting priority setting is enabled for multiple exposures, such that, after the sixth image is taken, there is a slight pause before the remainder of the sequence is completed.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the viewfinder display shows incorrect information during AEB shooting.

Communication with the WFT-E7 Wireless File Transmitter has been improved.

When images have been successfully transferred with the WFT-E7 Wireless File Transmitter through the FTP protocol, an “O” will be displayed. When images have not been successfully transferred with the WFT-E7 Wireless File Transmitter through the FTP protocol, an “X” will be displayed.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the camera may not function properly when an Eye-Fi card is used.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the focal length value listed in the Exif information is not displayed correctly for images shot with the EF 24-70mm F4L IS USM lens.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the lens firmware cannot be updated properly.

Corrects errors in the Arabic language menu.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the camera changes the AF microadjustment value to -8.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the on-screen guidance cannot be fully displayed when setting the maximum limit value for the “Setting the ISO Speed Range for Auto ISO” option.

You can do Off Camera Flash with a point and shoot. how cool is that?!?! Of course since the Sony NEX-5R doesn’t have a built-in hotshoe on camera, I had to get an adapter, MSA-10 NEX, from ebay which cost less then $25. Since I have the RPCube attached to my Canon 600EX-RT flash. I am still able to control the power level via Radiopopper JrX transmitter. Totally worth it.

I haven’t use this softbox since when my wife and I were photographing preschool kids. I think its been over seven years now. Well now its time to dust off the spiders and put it in good use. After briefly chatting with Dylan’s school director two weeks ago, I found out that they needed some headshots made for their school website. I decided to take this awesome opportunity to let the staffs know what I do. The session was fun and of course painless. Hopefully this will open the door for me to have many more opportunity to photograph the folks in Georgia. Headshots is not something I normally provide. But if it will help to get my name out and of course to keep me busy. Why not right! I have also been thinking about doing some family portrait. Let’s see if I can come up with something awesome to market myself.

This is a very old softbox SP Studio Systems Collapsable EZ Octagonal 28″ Softbox that was really made for using with monolight. I did some modding and added a bracket and ring from Alzo Digital so I can use my Canon 600EX-RT with it.

2 cups raw pecans (pieces)
½ cup raw agave nectar
1½ cups raw cacao

I still remember this day as if it was yesterday. Some things you will NEVER forget. Especially knowing how closed I was to it. I always wonder what would have happened to me if I came out of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel just a few minutes later?

Here’s something I wrote four years ago. I wish I still have the one I wrote 10 years ago. Oh well. This one will do….

———–

7 years ago around this time, I was driving a friend out into the city to her job because she was late getting up and needed to be in the office by 8:30am for an important meeting. At that time, I just got laid off from Clear Channel Communication, so my schedule are FREE. I decide what the hell, I got nothing better to do anyway. I normally do not take the Tunnel out into the city, because of the $3.50 fee. Yes I am cheap. HAHA! But because we were running late, she told me to take it and will pay me back, plus the drop off spot was World Trade Center Path Station. So it makes sense to.

I remember traffic were pretty back up. and once we came out of the tunnel I happened to look up and said “oh world trade center is on fire”. I didn’t think much of it at that time… but once the 2nd plane hit the second tower, I knew at that point New York was under attack. I am not going to get into details anymore, but I will always remember what happen that day. Many of my friends do work in those buildings or in that area. Just so happen that Tuesday, they all decided either to take the day off, or they were running late into work.

Here’s some photos of that morning from my camera.

Wow, I didn’t realized I haven’t blog here since May. Well a lot has happened since. My leg is getting better. I am able to walk. Still unsure about the running yet. I will test that out maybe at the end of the summer. I quit my day time job on my second day return from disability. I was giving them about 6 weeks noticed. (something my former boss always wanted). Well in the end, they said your last day will be tomorrow. Yup!! So remember people. It’s not about respect. It’s not about let me do the right thing and give them weeks in advance noticed. It’s all about the goods for the company. Anyway, time to move on. I have something better on the other side waiting for me anyway. : )

Canon recently came out with a bad ass camera, the Canon 5D Mark III. I’m sure everyone here already know the specs and feature on this camera, so I am not gonna get into that. But if you are interested to read more about it. DPReview has a great review on this camera.

My thoughts on the Canon 5D Mark III

Just a bad ass camera. Wow! What a huge improvement from the 5D Mark II. I love the Mark II, but this Mark III is totally awesome. It focus pretty quickly. And I thought the high ISO was awesome on the Mark II. On the Mark III is even better. I did get to take it out to test this baby out on a Bridal Session I did around New York City this past weekend (Photo below). I also upgraded the new flash, Canon 600EX-RT. I didn’t get to use it with the Mark III yet. I’m sure I will very soon.

Ten more days… Woohoo!!!
